Hi Bambi, I'm so glad I came across this post. I'm a lady who just turned 60 and I going to move from rep of Ireland to Lá florida to live permanently and your post has actually convinced me that im doing the right thing. I'm into arts and crafts and also keep fit, so I'm sure I'll be kept busy. I'm excited and apprehensive at the same time as it's a big move. I'm a friendly type of person so I'm sure I'll make friends. So Spain here I come!!!!

I love your positivity, I'm planning on moving to Spain also permanently in either Playa-flamenca/La Florida. I'm moving from rep of Ireland and I'm a young at heart 60 and I hope to get involved in a few things. My partner has a house up in Santa Pola so I'll be going back and forth to his house and vice versa, and i can also stay with him in Ireland whenever I want so i won't feel completely cut off from Ireland. I can't wait for my house to sell so I can start my new life in the sun. Life is too short not to follow your dream.

For a start I'd rent something and, then. look around for a suitable alternative. In no case pay anything upfront to estate agents - that money is gone.

I think that statement is over the top.  Estate agents, like any other profession, are a cross section of society and you'll find wonderful ethical ones just as you may find people out to scam you.  Renting before buying is certainly a good strategy but lots of people have bought property quickly and safely.

Hi there, we just bought earlier this year in Torreveija and were delighted with the purchase.  We're located a few mins car drive from the town but it's nice and quiet but close to all amenities.  You could do like we did and get a taxi fromthe airport and arrange to meet with some est...

I fully agree Torrevieja is great. Bus stops everywhere and only €1.55 to take you all over. Loads of shopping areas Carefour, Habaneras, amazing Chinese shop that sales everything. Lovely sitting on the sea front for many places to eat. Amazing coach trips and adventure. Easy to get fro. Airport to Torrevieja. Either bus for €7 Both ways or taxi I use at times for €40 both ways.

Love Spain.  Don’t forget since Brexit as a non-resident, you are only allowed to stay for a maximum of 90 days in any 180 days.
