Will admins please take this post down - it's from November 2019. Thank you.

There have been people having helpful conversations on here this week so I don’t know what your problem is really.  You are not the OP so why are you bothered 😎😂

hi,this is the first time I have joined a forum, not sure if it will help or not. looking to buy a villa, never been to  this area before, but it looks to be what I am looking for on paper. im retired and over 70 so this is a bit daunting. should I buy or rent longterm over the winter. lookin...

...g at some questions on  this site it does seem very complicated, and I am wondering if renting would be a safer option. the problem is getting to wherever I hire from the airport. not travelled much in the past so am a bit unsure.i would like to be within walking distance of proper shops and amenities, that's not a 10k hike away! need advice on the best area to be  looking from someone not trying to sell me a propery they want to get rid of.

Hi

Playa Flamenca has all the shops, bars, restaurants and beach all near, so you wouldn't need transport. If you did, there are buses into Torrevieja and you can connect to other places there.  There is also La Zenia Boulevard in walking distance. A lot of  British  live there so you can make friends easily.  You should rent first to see if you like the area.

Check out all the requirements for getting the non-lucrative visa before you commit to anything.

To live in Spain permanently you will need to apply for a visa from the Spanish consulate in the UK. You will need to prove that you have the required income and full healthcare.

You can't just move to Spain and apply for residency without some sort of visa.

I would suggest you rent first a long term rent for a two bed one bath fully furnished is around 600/650 depending on the area

Take a look at the property to rent section of this forum there are one or two which match your criteria like being so close to shops etc

Then while renting you have ample opportunities to visit the various areas and view available villas for sale

This way you are not rushed to buy something just to get it over with you can pick and choose where to buy and what to buy

Good luck
