Hello everyone!

I’m doing some research as I am looking to open a Beauty Training Academy within the Alicante/ Torrevieja area.

Due to the current pandemic I’ll be looking to open in Spring 2022 next year, does anyone know if there are many beauticians / beauty therapists or beauty training academies within the Torrevieja/ Alicante area?

I’m wondering if there are lots of beauticians in the area if this would be a great location to open, or if there aren’t many beauticians within this area I maybe better off looking to open one slightly out of the area..

Any feedback would honestly be much appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Hi Louise,

I'l be seeing my beautician on Monday, so I'll ask her and let you know.

Just a thought, Brexit has made things much harder, in respect of things like having your UK qualifications recognised in the EU, so you should probably check that out.  Also, you should check out how to set up a business in Spain; it may be different to "autonomo" (self-employed), but it will probably be very different to the UK.

Kind regards,

Kim

Sounds good but before even thinking about setting up any commercial activity I'd strongly recommend familiarization with customer behaviour and protection, market structures, fiscal, legal, and local issues to name just the important. To get whatever up and running can take months and become a gauntlet

Thank you for your input but I feel that this is all irrelevant to myself, I already run a successful business in Great Britain and I’m looking to expand.

Hello Kim,

thank you for responding, that would be much appreciated and I look forward to hearing from you and your beautician.

All of my teaching qualifications are internationally recognised qualifications so this will be no issue with regards to setting up a business in Spain.

Thank you.

Hello. I am Irish and a qualified beauty therapist with over 20 years experience.  I’ve just moved to Orihuela Costa from living in Australia for nearly ten years. There I ran my own business specialising in HD Brows but also offering waxing /facials/ lashlifts/ brow lamination etc.

I’m taking the summer off but I am now pondering whether I set up shop again or what shall I do lol . I am not certified to teach though . Not even sure if it’s something I have thought about doing but I saw your post and decided to reply . Thank you .
