Mind the "Torretas" area.

There are British and Irish pubs in numbers near the beaches of Torrevieja, so basically you are to look for something near the beach 😊

What's  best depends on person. 1st line are windy, sandy, and noisy but have sea view. Second line have no sea view, less wind and sand, but often much traffic. 3rd line and on  less of all those, with exceptions for traffic at a few. If you want a house look at south or north end of the beach, center is mostly apartments. In center, if you want sun look at direction but have in mind  how wide the street is compared to the hight of the buildings. Contrary to what many would think, flooding is less of a problem on the beach side than on the west side. As Killjoy sort of said, maybe keep to the beach side of the road N-332 is better.

See my replies on this thread.

Good areas to buy around torrevieja with public transport

There are many pubs, mostly cosmopolitan, Irish, British, Swedish, Norwegian and of course Spanish. Don't let the lack of British pubs hamper your choice.

And the internet is awash (pun intended) with pictures of flooding in that area today.

Hi

If by "British pub" you mean English-speaking, you might be better off looking slightly south of Torrevieja - Punta Prima down to Cabo Roig. It's hard to find one where the most commonly heard language isn't English - the Germans, Dutch, Eastern Europeans,  Belgians etc generally speak English as well - and even the Welsh😂

If you mean real ale - forget it!!

The beaches at Playa Flamenca and La Zenia and Cabo Roig are popular - if the council manages to sort out the licenses for the beach bars sometime this year!!!!

Cheers

Steve

There is a lot of good things to say about Torreta, any real estate agent will tell you that. (<https://www.engelvoelkers.com/en-es/torrevieja/blog/top-5-places-to-live-torrevieja/>)  Also many people are happy living there.

The most discussed downsides are the mosquitos and other water breeding insects due to the fact that Torreta is close to a lake and wet areas that are ideal for mosquito breeding, the flooding problems, that may or may not be delt with (<https://theleader.info/2023/04/20/plan-to-finally-deal-with-flooding-in-torrevieja/>), some periodically garbage issues, and finally it is said to be one of the more popular areas for squatters. Still there are people who love it there, and being one who don't  live in that area, my perseption may be flawed.

A great starting point would probably be learning how to spell Torrevieja.
