Just down the road is Playa Flamenca.  Wonderful place with everything close by.  LA Zenia beach and state of the art shopping centre.  Plenty middle age residents

Aw Cindy thanks  so much for answering so quickly! I'm relocating from ireland (with my cat!)and tho I've been looking in this location I just feel it might be abit too (dare I say) 'mature' for me! I'd like a few days work and live in a bustling community with plenty of singletons of the 40\50's + ....should I look more to Malaga or the island's maybe?

Hi Angie....good look with your search,we have just bought a holiday home in La Marina URB,its a fantastic base 4 us with lots of cheap bars and restaurants and every type of food under the sun.....we live in bham but are flying out every few weeks for a break and maybe in 10 years will spend months rather than weekends in this lovely sunny area......I have an Irish dad,he's from ballaghadereen in Roscommon and love Ireland, but sadly its not sunny enough and it doesn't sell beer at 1 euro a pint or a glass of wine the same lol......Helen and myself are in our 40s but I hit 50 years young soon,we would b happy to show you around LA marina if your out when we are....pm me if you need further help and good luck....phil

There are plenty of things to keep you busy around the Punta Prima to Cabo Roig area. There are many clubs to cater for needs  Have you thought of renting for a few weeks before making you choice and check out  the area?

Generally around the La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Plays Flamenco area is great for the expat community with lots of good restaurants and English and Irish bars. The community is of all ages and there is always plenty to do including day trips with the likes of David's Coach Trips, check out their website.

Thank You So Much for your help guys, this is fantastic to get all this solid advise...keep it coming!!! I was fairly daunted about where would suit me! I'm looking now in the areas you have suggested and La Marina is standing out at the moment as it has all the infrastructure i would need as I don't drive(yet!) plus the community away from the madness of tourists:) Also La Zenia. Feels great to talk to people already so Thank YOU!! Really appreciate you taking the time, and Phil/Helen I'd love to take you up on that offer to meet up:)

Gorgeous day in Galway today, I'll be taking a walk to Salthill and thinking of you guys and the future...a great Mother's Day!
