You can cycle to La Mata in about 15-20 mins. We leave La Siesta at the top end by a variety of gaps in the fence and head across the parque natural and down towards the edge of the "blue" lake. You skirt past a picnic area with an observation wooden structure by the lake and then on to a decent path/road which leads to an underpass below the N332 and then La Mata.
We do it on ordinary road bikes (ie the cheap ones from Carrefour) but it's a rocky route which is best suited to mountain bikes. We've not come a cropper yet, in either direction, but it is certainly better to go across this area than take the road route via Hiperber supermarket and then up and over that hill.

You just have to take care because just when you think there is a smooth(ish) bit of path you suddenly come across rocks and cracks that you have to negotiate carefully. It's also a challenge finding the direct route to and from the lakeside picnic area. From there it is easy but getting there can be an adventure! You shouldn't go far wrong though as it's not a huge area. The parque is criss-crossed with paths in all directions - practice makes perfect!
