Your Alexa and your Audible/Kindle accounts all need to be linked to the same Amazon country.

So for instance if you have an Audible/Kindle account linked to Amazon.co.Uk, then you need to ensure your echo Dot is linked to Amazon Uk.  Even if you  purchased your Dot through Amazon.es you need to link it to UK. You can still have your location in Spain, so it picks up local weather etc

You can either set it up correctly either via your account on the Amazon website or use the Alexa app

I tend to use the app to get her to read my kindle, rather than “asking” her

If the settings are correct, it was probably Alexa having a bad day, she can be so moody at times!

I think you need wifi to connect wirelessly to Alexa

.

If you are s permanent resident you can sign up for wifi. Ask your neighbours for recommendation.

If you only visit there is a company in San Miguel which does holiday service.

You pay for installation  one off.

Then you pay for times when you use the internet.

It works really well and is very cost effective.

Hope this helps.

Hope Alexa works in Spain as I've just bought 1 for my use in Spain. I'm so lucky my neighbour shared his Spanish wifi with me. Fingers crossed it will work.

I've got my own English wifi too if not.

Musics a must have

Cheers

Don’t worry Alexa works in Spain. I think most people use it as their main radio/music source over here.

A lot of the bars use it for background music too.

I have both Alexa and Google nest ,linked to my Spanish router ,get all my usual radio and news from BBC  and RTE without any problems ,of the two Alexa is far better behaved. Also have internet radio linked to router and get any station anywhere all of the time ,big plus," All of the 60s ,all of the time radio" memories on tap.

Hi, if you go to your devices on your Alexa app (available from Play Store or Apple Store) you can add your  device in the  app and set your country as UK. Thst will allow you to use as if in the UK.
