My neighbour is quite concerned about the garden behind and attached to his house, it affects me too as we are in a quad. The weeds are as high as the balcony, garden is so overgrown you cannot reach the front or back door and not only is it a fire hazard but there are also rats. The administrator is only concerned about recovering the debt of several hundred euros community fees which is in the process of going to court but could take years. My neighbour has managed to contact the family of the owner in the UK and they have said he refuses to speak about the house other than he wants to give it to them but they don’t want it. It is several years since the owner has been here but we have sent him photos but he is not interested. Is there anything else we can do and what happens if he dies (he is in his 80’s) and the children don’t want to know?

My way, buy pressure garden pump loads of white vinegar, fill spray pump, add salt and some washing up liquid shake vigorously and spray over the weeds.

If you need the exact mix / ratio of salt vs vinegar google it.

Option being if your that worried either cut weeds down yourself or get someone in.

We cut everything down about 3 years ago and were then warned by the administrator that we were trespassing, also damp coming through to my neighbours house. Just looking for a legal way to sort it, wondered if the fire department might help.

I would trespass again… don’t think admin would go to any trouble as you have helped them after all. Sounds like it is a right old state so I would pay someone to do it maybe ask the others affected to chip in and don’t discuss the issue with the company you hire, just tell them what you want done.

you can ask fire people but they’re not paid as gardeners.

Hello

Administrators/president should  make decisions on this  .Before  you decide on anything, get a few  current photos of how bad things are + neighbours damp etc. That way, if there are any repercussions, you would have proof of the problem to back you up.

In my Urb, on one occasion, the administrators asked our regular gardeners to trim a bush & tree that were part blocking access & then  charged the appt owner for the work.!

Cheers

Am I reading this right, the owner who lives in the UK does not want the property and would like to give it away but no one wants it, surely it’s worth something to someone even if it needs renovating, why hasn’t anyone snapped it up?

Think it is far too much to do now, needs a company, the volunteers from last time are either not here now or are ill. We did paint he outside walls as they were disgusting but again h refused to pay so we have added it to his debt, not that it will do much good. He refuses all post, won’t sign for anything and unless you are on his list you cannot get through on the phone. They gave me an e-mail address however the messages bounce back. My neighbour managed to find some family members on Facebook, and they contacted him but he is not interested.in discussing it even with them. They are quite well off, no shortage of money with any of them, he is just being obstinate.

If I was you I may of approached him and ask him to sign it over to you and you would assume all responsibility and liabilities even if you had to pay the outstanding fees, may be worth a try if he just wants to get rid, I’m intrigued by it, do you have a picture of the property involved?

Is there not a legal way you can get the property declared abandoned and claim it?
