Why is Torrevieja so dirty, it has to be the filthiest town in Spain.

Same reason Orihuela Costa is in the same state.

With such a sweeping statement I'll rate this post as trolling!

Hello

You should direct  your question to the Ayuntamiento. I'd be interested in their answer as Ive lived here almost 20years & don't find it any worse than anywhere else in the area.

Like most busy working towns &  holiday destinations & after the summer invasion of thousands   of visitors, some areas might need a bit of attention but some are absolutely fine.

Cheers

Many Spanish seem to have little respect for their own country as witnessed by the rubbish they just chuck on the ground or out of car windows.

Torre has no monopoly on that.

The streets could do with a good wash down and the Spanish should clean up after dogs.. it’s disgusting.

People should clean up after their dogs and whoever runs the town should give the place a good wash down.

We just visited the north of Spain for a few days, mainly Asturias but some neighbouring areas too. Everything is so clean, polished, taken care of. I was almost shocked - I thought the whole of Spain was just as dirty as Alicante, Torrevieja and the towns and cities around.

Went for walk today, whole the coast looks and smells like an environmental disaster. I used to pick rubbish while walking, today you need a lorry to do it. Sad, sad story...
