By the fountain in Torrevieja, where you find "all" the banks  (plaza waldo calero), you'll also find a restaurant with red furniture, Alingui. This one I believe have good value for money with 3 courses for 10.90e.  I ended up paying 14.90 adding 2 beverages. Nearby at plaza capdepont there is a good reasonably priced china restaurant (China Town). At the promenade you will find  most for money at  La Terracica, next to Ale Hop, by the Phiscinas. Terracica have good burgers  and are in general  a bit lower priced than the competition.  Then there is Esmeralda at playa cura. 3 courses with beverage and bread for 20e.  In the area around the bus station you will also find restaurants with good prices. And there used to be a couple at playa neufragos, but haven't gotten so far lately.  In my experience the portions are often not very big on daily menues.

Edit: Terracica, I like their burgers, but it is not a burgerjoint. Also it is the one with the "funny" childrens menu. Nice seaview too.  Remember someone here mentioned a good experience there a while ago.🙂

Thank you but looking primarily for Spanish restaurants not ones providing English type food. Tried Alingui at la Siesta, but not impressed with the quality served.

Will look at Esmeralda as I think we went there many years ago and then it closed so will try again.

Thank you for your suggestions

If you are primarily looking for  the Spanish,  the area around the main bus station would probably be your best choice. However, Torrevieja is a tourist town, so most of the Spanish is somewhat adjusted.

Just remembered, there is one called Restaurante Cocina la abuela, in Blasco Ibanéz, between Almudena and Fuensanta. They have normal prices, but serve autentic Spanish food.

Esmeralda serve same kind of Mediterranean food as Alingui in the city, just a bit different menu, and I think a bit better presented, but if the two Alinguis are similar, which I have no idea about, you may be disappointed.

Hello

Thanks for this, I don't know this one., It's on a street that I know but,    is easy to miss- but as I am always walking in the town, I am grateful for the recommendation.

I have never found anywhere central that I loved as much as El Patio Chico,    that closed after lockdown.

Cheers
