Hi. I'm new in this forum. I'm looking for recommendations for somone who can help to fix the raising damp. Will have more building work in the future is the builder is good and reliable.

Are you sure it's rising damp? Dampness is not generally an issue in this area. However, poorly ventilated houses are and the subsequent condensation sticks to walls and in cupboards, generally at the bottom, and mould forms.

You should treat it first with mould removal spray and then repaint with a damp proof paint.

Thank you for your reply. I have been doing well with ventilation by keeping windows open, not drying clothes inside, using dehumidifier boxes. It seems like it's coming from outside and I can see its been a problem in a while as its patched up from outside previously. As this is my first year and a half in the flat (live in the UK but visit about 5-7 times pear year) the place doesn't sit closed up. The damp marks come from bottom up in outside wall. Especially near the really flimsy patio sliding doors that I'm planning to replace soon. I don't think the damp paint will help if I don't resolve it from outside.
