Hello, my wife's TIE is due for renewal, I have been trying to get an appointment at Alicante as we live in Torrevieja but non are available, my question is can we apply at any office to get an appointment, say Murcia or Orihuela or other locations or does it have to be Alicante.

Anywhere in the Alicante province, the province you live in.

This has been a regular, very regular, subject and people are always having problems getting an appointment. They won't allow you to renew the card until it actually runs out and one poster said they were turned away on the date it ran out and told to come back the following day. You have up to 3 months to renew the card after it expires so keep trying until an appointment becomes available.

Or try one of the gestors or companies who do the renewal for you. It's a pain having to pay but some seem to get an appointment easier. Just don't get ripped off as some have quoted over 300 euro whilst others from about 80 euro.

Look at  recent posts on the Costa Blanca, this has been talked about at least a dozen times in the last few weeks.

Just keep on trying. I started trying around two weeks before our cards expired, it took quite a few attempts over the course of a few days, but we eventually got both appointments within 30 minutes of each other at Alicante. I had my laptop open and every time I walked past it I tried again.  It’s a teeny bit stressful, ( as is all Spanish red tape)  but it just takes a bit of patience . Once you get through to the live appointments page it seems to throw up a date four weeks in advance, click the button to reselect and you’ll find all the dates available, some can be within the next few days.

Hi

Our friends are really struggling to get appointments,at the moment they have 2 people trying,is there a website that is available to them so they could also try themselves?

I used this website.

It’s very helpful gives you the link to the website you need to make the appointment.

I presume its  for the  renewal of a withdrawal agreement TIE

You have a better chance if you have a digital certificate or clave.

I eventually struck lucky around 11am on a Tuesday morning, having previously tried at 8 am 9 am and 10 am that morning,

You just need your NIE number, email address and a Spanish mobile for the verification code.
Once you’ve got your appointment, you’ll find the links to completing the application form and the payment form on the same Age in Spain website. Just note that the TIE has to have expired before Alicante  province will process the application.

I got an appointment this morning just after 11am, I had been trying at 9am and 10am with no luck, it seems after 11am is the secret.
