I am thinking of selling my apartment in Torrevieja and have been asked for various details by the real estate agent.

Please can anyone advise where I will find :

⦁   the address/email for a land registry to supply a NOTA SIMPLE.

⦁   a SUMA bill.  I have looked on my bank statements and it is not on there.

⦁   my NIE number.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Look at the following re nota simple:

Ref IBI, I don't believe you. If Suma collect your IBI, then you must have paid that and will have details.

And you don't know your own NIE number? Is this a wind-up? Just look at your NIE or at any utility bill.

I assure you I am not in the habit of lying and only ask questions to which I do not know the answers.

I have no idea what IBI is nor SUMA nor NIE.  I have never lived in my apartment so do not have utility bills to hand.  I asked my Bank about SUMA and was told there are no SUMA payments on my statements.

You're in an extremely unusual situation, but I'll do what I can to help.

Have you delegated payment of bills to a fiscal representative? If so, that person will have all the information you need.

IBI is council tax, and Torrevieja plus many other municipalities have delegated collection of that to a tax collection agency called Suma.

NIE is simply a unique number allocated to a foreigner who has interests in Spain.

Have you got the escritura - deeds for the property? If so, your NIE number will be on that, and so should the catastral reference number - land registry unique identifier for the property.

Your NIE number and catastral reference number will also be on your annual non-resident tax returns.

That's great.  Thanks so much.  The Bank are looking for my title deeds at the moment.  As my mortgage is with them they must surely be there??  Anyway, plenty of reading matter to be going on with.  Thanks again.

You're correct that the bank will have the deeds, so they should yield some of the information you need. Good luck.

Hi Sandy, if you have never lived in your apartment, has it been empty for any length of time? Your post says that you are base in Torrevieja, are you living there in a different property to the one that you are trying to get the information for?

The apartment was let until last October and has since been empty.  I live in Hong Kong so am totally in the hands of strangers in my quest to sell.
