Car, English to Spanish plates

If you are doing this after 31st december be aware that now the Spanish authorities  are now charging around 30% tax on the price of the car. For instance if you boght a car in Uk for 10k because they are cheaper in uk over here if the same car is 1400k you will pay the 30% on there assesment I was in a car traders yesterday and they told me they will not take English cars in part exchange anymore because of this rule it may change but be warned.

Also because of the 90day rule the Police will be pulling all UK cars as of April this year because you will have to prove its only just got here on holiday, bye bye illegal Uk cars very soon.

Thanks for your reply, I tried them and they quoted me €1,100 plus €180 for lights and extra if I needed reverse and fog.

Hi Bob you are looking at over 1000 I have just done my UK car, had lights changed plus ITV  650 plus 400 for registration I used ORKE IN LOS MONTESINOS for registration as I had ITV in December I didn't have to pay import tax

Yours was December BEFORE BREXIT so you were lucky.

Hi Carol, I have paid €103 ITV, €129 Suma, €67 import and €97.80 Trafico.

All I asked was where the payment office in Alicante was. I have been there today to pay.

Glad you managed to find the office. May I ask what information / paperwork you had to provide.

We have had our motorhome matriculated (here since last year) but we cannot get a straight answer to what customs in Alicante require.
