Good morning all

We purchased our property February 2021 and SUMA all paid up to date . We have not received any further bill or notification since but last week had 21.36 euros deducted from our bank account stating it was for Agencia Tributario . I think I am right in saying there will be another payment deducted later in the year and the main SUMA bill in September ? Would welcome any advice . Thanks in advance

You are correct the main SUMA payments will be taken later in the year.

Yes you are right Annie, and Paolo said too. Our payment period to Suma was covered 2nd August 2021 to 5th November for around 700+ euros , so the 21 euro bill is for something else. The property tax will have words such as a catastral reference number and maybe Recibo Domiciliado.

We had a smaller (43 euro) bill with 'concepto tributario and recogida residuos solidos' from the ajuntament de monover so it is a local tax, maybe rubbish tax. Cajanar is house water which is about 34 euros.

We found it useful to set up access at the Suma portal so you can see the bills. Print them and set up a DD at the bank's ATM.

Hope this helps & best wishes,

Jules 'n Dave

Just one caveat, make sure you have the D/D set up for payments.

Thank you Paolo51 . How do I set up a DD and if it wasn't already set up how was payment taken ? All a bit confusing.  I expected a physical bill but maybe I will have a trip to the bank . However with no evidence of an actual bill , may be difficult setting up a DD I think

Call your solicitor as they may have set things up for you re payments if you instructed them to do so when purchasing your house.

Hi Annie,

The Suma portal is at: suma.es

Pick any option, say 'Pay your taxes and traffic fines' but that needs the bill reference, or the electronic office (needs a csv code (secure verification code which they sent me) from the QR code if you have a bill) from previous years. Have a look at the site. It is in English. Most need your NIE / NIF number. You can ask for bills to be sent by email to you.

There is a tax calendar on there too - helpful.

Access may also be gained using a digital certificate which is obtained from any town hall (free). You may already have one installed on your computer? That just says you are who you say you are. Not that there has been any rush from others to pay our tax bills lol.

Does this help?

Best wishes,

J&D
