Hi Annie,

The Suma portal is at: suma.es

Pick any option, say 'Pay your taxes and traffic fines' but that needs the bill reference, or the electronic office (needs a csv code (secure verification code which they sent me) from the QR code if you have a bill) from previous years. Have a look at the site. It is in English. Most need your NIE / NIF number. You can ask for bills to be sent by email to you.

There is a tax calendar on there too - helpful.

Access may also be gained using a digital certificate which is obtained from any town hall (free). You may already have one installed on your computer? That just says you are who you say you are. Not that there has been any rush from others to pay our tax bills lol.

Does this help?

Best wishes,

J&D

I should have added that the way I find most useful is via the electronic office, then select 'outstanding electronic notices'. It then asks for my key.

Is there a chat box where I can chat somebody in English to give me information about my Suma account

They have a really good live chat service I have used a few times in English.

There should be two items payable to the SUMA agency in any year.   The first, payable around April/May each year, is for the car tax and the second, payable around August/September each year, is for the property tax that is actually called the IBI.   Each of these taxes is payable by the person who actually owns either the car or the property on the 1st January in the current year.   The SUMA agency then pays the amounts collected to the local town hall within the Community of Valencia.   I believe that all other town halls in Spain collect their own taxes and do not use an agency.

I went to the Suma office (in El Campello) last year and was told that you have to set up a direct debit on line. Around the same time, my agent set me up with a digital signature (digital certificado). It is my belief that you cannot set up the direct debit without this. I already had a direct debit set up for my Exacciones Municipales (municipal taxes, rubbish etc), so the other direct debit was for my non residents tax.

I have two SUMA payments. One, is for the Exacciones Municipales. The other is for the non residents tax. In the past it cost me 100 Euros to have this paid. Now it is on a direct debit. I also pay my income tax (from renting my house) on line. Again, I do not think that you can do this without a digital signature

Hi Annie, we bought our apartment in Torrevieja in January ‘22. We met with our solicitor last week and went through all the expenses, just to be in the safe side and we were told that Garbage collection fee is collected twice a year, May and September and it is 21 euro. Could this be what came out of your account? Regards, Anna

Hi Anna

Thanks for your response.  I think it may be exactly that.  So I will expect a further small amount to be deducted and the bigger payment in September. We have never had a bill and completed February last year . Your recent experience is good to know and very helpful. Enjoy your new home

Thanks Annie

Hi I am in the UK and trying to pay my SUMA for my car tax but the online link asks for my CSV number. I only have last year's number which was given to me on the paperwork I was given when I paid. (Tried entering this number again and it just tells me this is already paid) How do I obtain the bill and CSV number for this year? Thanks

Try this link

https://www.suma.es/PortalWeb/localizadores/cuerpo_tramites_cargo_cuenta.xhtml

You just put in your car registration number and your NIE.

Maybe a bit early? Mine says pending for this year and you have until May 10th to pay it.
