I don't know the Torre area, but I always see plenty when I drive past the salt lakes at Santa Pola.

Hi Jim

Whereabouts are the salt lakes at Santa Pola? We don’t know the area that well yet, only had our holiday home for 2 years, but are keen to discover the beautiful area and all it offers.

We have been to the salt lakes at Torrevieja, but there were no flamingos to be seen, so if you can point us in the right direction to see some on another salt lake that would be much appreciated

Many thanks, Stev & Sue

Henry beat me to it - all you have to do is drive up the N332 until you're near Santa Pola. You're likely to see most of them on the large areas of open water on the left-hand side. I tend to look at the right-hand side - I've seen avocets there a few times. Take binoculars with you if you've got some.

Incidentally, there aren't many places where you can pull off and park.

Parking is easier at Lo Pegan and you have the long spit that goes towards La Manga. Well worth the walk

Are there any places where you can see flamingoes at the moment?
