Correos Losing mail and packages?

I just received a note from Amazon saying that i had been reimbursed for another item that had not arrived with Correos.

Last week we went to the Elche DGT office to exchange an EU license. After completing everything they asked how we wanted to receive the new license. They strongly advised us to come to the office to pick it up. The said that the postal service in Torrevieja "Loses" items and was not to be used. They said they would notify us when it was ready for collection.

BTW, It is far easier to go to the Elche DGT than the Alicante one. Excellent service and free for over 70s.

Obviously Some people in Torrevieja Correos are nicking a lot of stuff Over the last 2 years I have "Lost" many items including 4 credit cards and 2 security code devices. I hate when I make an order and see Correos delivery! There must be mountains of stuff somewhere!!

We don't use a Correos.

We did,but not any more use a local shops Courier company.

Cost us a lot more,and supposed to be more secure.

In our case a lot of post wasn't being delivered,and a big parcel with my daughter's birthday presents never arrived.

I mentioned this several times in the shop,to be told,Post went straight from the shop directly to the Airport,so it must be getting tampered with in the UK?

Whose to say the courier doesn't tamper with mail?

Didn't help that contents had to be shown on the parcel.

We don't send a jot to the UK any more.

Took one month for a new debit card to arrive from the States in Spain. The postman said that it came via barco, not aeroplane. 😊. Nice, France - 3 days via new York - nice airport.

It's shocking, isn't it?

But about what I expect from this totally useless company.

I ordered something from Amazon and it was delivered to the Correos office behind the Dialprix next to the beach.

I went to collect and they couldn't find it, even though they admitted they had received it.

No apology, not even a kiss my ar_e type response.

I wouldn't trust them for anything.

I can't even find out which is my letterbox in the community postbox.

Total joke company and if it's nationalised (I don't know), they ought to get rid, imo because it isn't working.

That said, nearly all couriers are the same. Useless.

The only one I can rely on is Amazon, which is quite sad really.

Credit cards were from Santander Madrid. Apart from recorded delivery items, I have not sent or waited for receipt of anything with the UK. All recorded delivery and items not sent with Correos have always arrived. Letters to and from the UK always seem to get through even though there maybe a delay of up to 6 weeks. In Tarragona the post lady came about once a month when there were a few letters, A few years back I sent a letter to myself as a test, from the PO behind DialPrix (Sadly now closed), it arrived the next day.

Went to the Montesinos PO the other day (12.30-14.30) but they provide only basic postal services. will try Quesada this morning.
