I need to find another supplier for electricity currently with Iberdrola. Please post if there is an alternative company and if it is possible to set up a new account with them online from UK and do I need to provide ID if so what do they require? Passport? NIE No? proof of tenancy/ownership Thanks.

Hi Pete. You're the first person I've heard of who seems to have had a good experience with Iberswitch - everone else I've heard of has had problems with them.

As well as asking Iberswitch, I suggest getting prices direct from Fenie so you can do a comparison:

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

We use Fox Energie as Iberdrola were rediculously slow when we were trying to get our place reconnected, they are a new company and their customer service seems good so far.

Hi thanks for the ideas about different LX companies. Can any of you answer the other questions?

!.There is an outstanding bill at the apartment with Iberola. I dont want to pay the last occupiers bill as its quite high (£285).

2. Can I switch to  one of the other companies without paying Iberolas bil?

3.And what ID do I need.

4. Also can I do this online from the UK.

Thanks in advance!

John  I would suggest starting a new thread to ask your question about internet providers

You’ll not get many responses on an old thread about electricity suppliers

Your solicitor will automatically transfer your supply across when you purchase.

There isn’t a standard rate as there are many deals to be had  and far too many tariffs.

Depends on what supply you have coming in, your choice on that could depend on the size of your property and how much electricity would be used at any one time.

Then you have to work out what time of the day/week  you use the most electricity to work out which is the best tariff for you.

Once you’ve worked out both of those things, you can think about switching

You’ll find more information on the Iberdrola website
