How to change name on contract and direct debit details

 In central Torrevieja both Iberdrola & Agamed have offices ... Iberdrola on Calle Ramon Gallud at the top end close to the harbour, & Agamed  office is 22 Calle   Caballero de Rodas which is the street that runs parallel with Ramon Gallud.  Both of these are walk in offices but often have  people waiting /queueing outside . I would advise you to take as much official paperwork as you have, passport, NIE, bank details etc as I dont know how easy it is

 Open to the public as some people pay all their bills at the offices, but as I said, they get busy at times so you might have to queue for a short while ( Both only open mornings ----- Agamed  until 1.30  Iberdrola until 2.30

Have you officially inherited the property from your late mum?  I believe the utility companies will want to see the death certificate.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Yes I have but it was a while ago. I've carried on paying in her name but after buying my sisters share I want to put everything in my name. Why would they need her death certificate? A copy of it is in the deeds, I guess I just take the whole deeds with me. Nothing is ever straight forward

If you have an Inheritance Deed with a copy of the death certificate, I´m sure that will be sufficient, but as you say, nothing is straightforward in Spain.  I helped a friend after her husband died - she even had to legally inherit his half of their car!  Unfortunately, many people don´t find out how different inheritance procedures are in Spain, compared to the UK, until it becomes a problem.  I hope you´re able to get this resolved satisfactorily.
