Hi Pauline,

As you were able to find the app and you find it useful, please would you post a link to it for the original poster.

Many thanks,

Kim

Just go to your app store for Android or iPhone and search 'Iberdrola'.  Then install the app.  Register with your customer number or whatever details they ask for. 🙂

Thanks, but I don't need it, I already have Iberdrola Clientes in Spanish on my phone.

The OP is asking for the Iberdrola Smart app in English, that's what I thought you were saying you have.

Kind regards,

Kim

The app is very useful because you can see how much electricity you're using day by day, and you can also see how much it's costing you each day, and which times of day you're using more electricity. 😀

You can actually do all of this online as well - not many know that you can though

Unfortunately not quite so simple with Apple. The App Store looks at which region you have registered with Apple and assumes that to be your region. Thus, if your Apple account is linked to a UK email address, then you get the message pictured when trying to download an app from another region.

You’ll notice I’m using a VPN connected to Spain and still it doesn’t work. The only way I know of around this is to open another Apple account with a Spanish email address.

Sorry, but I don’t understand why one needs to know daily kWh usage. I am not trying to be awkward, and although it costs, it’s nowhere near as expensive as UK. Surely one uses what one needs to use, of course being sensible and not leaving the oven on for hours or not turning off the lights,...

... but we live in a modern world where it’s just a necessity?

We have no gas at all and have two external heat pumps, one for endless hot water and the other runs the underfloor heating in cold months. The bills are perfectly reasonable even in winter, although of course are more expensive due to heating. Incidentally, a couple of years ago I did an exercise as we at that time were using the night/day tariff and I was fed up of remembering to program the washing machine overnight. I took a years bills and then calculated what it would have been on the 24 hour standard tariff. The difference was minimally less costly using the standard tariff, so I promptly signed up for their online standard tariff,, and haven’t noticed much difference. I accept we use power, have all the usual kit, so expect to pay for the usage. If I want to, as the previous poster said, I can go online and do whatever, but I never do.

Your post makes perfect sense, in this day and age we are becoming increasingly obsessed with gadgets  and technology. I think most people realise that it is the heat generating appliances that use most electricity, so if the bill is too expensive those are the things that need turning down / off. Constant use of the tv and things left on standby overnight is also a big factor; fact is… if you want something you generally have to pay for it one way or another.

Iberdrola send informative emails, based on one’s individual consumption and analysis of data provided by their smart meters. In our case, the biggest percentage consumption each month is refrigeration.

The point I am making is that each individual’s consumption and useage habits differ.

Nothing wrong in knowing this data so that habits can be altered accordingly if desired.

Many people make a shopping list and stick to it for budgetary purposes - why not apply the same reasoning to electricity consumption.

I met the same challenge with Android store, As my Google account is not spanish. Have a local network and phone number but it doesn't help. Then I went to chk the account settings, and yes, you can change your Google account to spanish one, but this will then stay minimum one year before you can return to original!

The Iberdrola app is on Google play store. It is in Spanish, but quite easy to understand, as it shows mainly graphs and numbers. You will also be able to stop paper bills as these are available on the app. It is also useful if you have solar panels .
