Hi

My current power supply keeps tripping out and I am advised I need to increase the capacity from 3.45 kw to 5.7 kw.

My service provider is iberdrola but I suspect it’s not as easy as simply asking them to change my contract and increase capacity.

Can anyone advise what the process is please ?

Thanks

First of all you need a certified Electrician to check your wirings for suitability. He will issue a "boletin" to be provided for a new contract at any Iberdrola branch.

i did mine last year you need to get a electrican to certify you wiring which cost me about 120 euros then take the cert down to iberdrola office who charge you for changing you supply over

you also get charged by iberdrola about a extra 5 euros a month on your standing charge

I did mine last year. iberdrola charged me 144 euros. Then i also paid the electrician for the upgrade. Iberdrola never asked me for any certificate or paperwork, they just upgraded over an email

Thanks for responding , iberdrola have now advised that I need a boletin and I have a certified electrician coming to inspect today.

Clearly their process isn’t totally consistent.

Fingers crossed I get the certificate

Thanks again

I have the same problem and Iberdrolla charged me £60 last year and claimed to have increased the power supply to 5KW but there was absoltely no difference - the system still tripped if I had more than 3 appliances switched on - really frustrating! and my Bills were astronomical!

So I cancelled the 'supposed upgrade' and changed tarriff to Nightime electricity - big difference and a lot cheaper but still only 3.45kw

I read last year that all homes in Torrevieja are supposed to receive upgraded supplies by 2025 but I won't hold my breath!
