I have just contracted Iberdrola to fit 10 panels for 4kw of power. They will cost approx 6000 euros. They are also advising me on gaining a grant of between 300 to 600 euros per kw of panels from the EU, and also a 30 per cent reduction per year on IBI for 3 years. See will see how it works out.

Thank you, Marc. Iberdrola sound like they are definitely worth contacting. Cheers

I run a green energy business in the UK, and our hose in Alguena is completely off grid. My suggestion would be to go with solar PV only, solar water is fine but not necessary as you can use the energy you make to heat your water anyhow. Plus there are issues with solar water including legionells.

Most importantly, I would install a battery storage system to store the energy you make to use at night or when the sun isn't shining. We don't have electricity bills, and you needn't either.

I would choose a company big enough to sue if you need to, and with a reputation they don't want to loose.

Thank you. Helpful advice - especially regarding legionella. Cheers

Thanks for that, as I was thinking that a similar system that people put in camper vans would suit my needs.

Watching a few YouTube videos on this, i think couple of panels and a few batteries should be enough to supply my needs. I can place the panels  where they will get direct sun light almost all day. My current electricity bill is around €50 per month, so will take many years to recoup a €6000 system.

Do you think this is feasible, or will sticking to my current (no pun intended) set up remain the best, in your opinion? Thank you.
