Store sells nice goods and is more than happy to take your money and lots of it.
BUT best hope you never have a problem because they have ZERO customer service! I would go so far as to say I have NEVER received WORSE customer service ever!!!!!
They will do anything they can to get out of a warranty claim.
Bought very expensive (+€700,=) bespoke 3 piece cover set to protect a lounge set which we also purchased from La Hoya.
First 2 covers ripped after 8 months, at which point La Hoya refused one cover as it was not sufficiently ripped according to them???
3 Months later other cover ripped.
After much and I mean much deliberation the set was replaced, but 6 months on all covers were again ripped.
A refund was requested as the parts are clearly not fit for purpose.
La Hoya refused multiple times! In the end the set was repaired, but guess what? Correct the complete set ripped again!!!
La Hoya refuses any responsibility, saying the warranty has now passed.
Concern has now been referred to the OMIC Torrevieja.

So if you like spending a lot of money buying visually nice stuff, by all means shop there, just DO NOT expect any kind of support or customer care if even the smallest thing goes wrong! Be warned!!!

If you want excellent customer service stick with IKEA!!!

Totally agree, but it's not unusual in Spain, seems the Spanish can't accept that something can be faulty. It's our fault for using the item, sloping shoulder syndrome can't take responsibility for anything.

Hi Marcel64,

I agree with RayD, the quality of the cover does not look suitable for exterior use, the fabric appears quite flimsy.

We've bought excellent quality, waterproof covers from Siesta Group in Los Montesinos:

They come in a variety of sizes and I think they were very good value for money.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi all,

Thanks for the feedback, but to be clear.....the covers were bought together with the lounge set both coming from the same manufacturer.

We explained the circumstances in which the set would be stored and at La Hoya they were eminent that this was top quality, of which they sold many and an had never had a concern.

For +€700 I expected top quality, but what a fool I was!!!

It is the complete lack of service given by La Hoya which is the issue here.

I would not like others to be fooled by the nice smiles while the stab you in the back.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Ray,

Let me be clear, they knew exactly how the covers were going to be used and the exact circumstances and advised us this was the suitable product and fabric for “the job”. It is a bit too easy to suggest that we should have seen this coming. I am always open to suggestions and will definitely have a look into the suggestion made by Kim. I however do not appreciate you suggesting that we misused an item we purchased for a specific use, which was recommended by La Hoya and failed within months.

I purchased some items from this store, one item shattered within days, took it back, guess what?

would not accept that there was clearly a fault with item.

Went by the store yesterday noticed they had massive sale on, they would have to pay me to shop there, nothing would persuade me to shop there again after this episode.

Lovely shop, let down by appalling staff attitude.

We bought some lovely stools at the La Hoya Hermosa branch near Haberneras, no problems.  Friends bought a huge wall clock there and found it kept stopping and starting - they took it back and were given a replacement, and no problems since.

It seems that the OP's original complaint was handled correctly by the store, but after the first 6 months of the standard EU guarantee of 2 years, the onus reverts to the buyer to prove that the goods were not fit for purpose.

I have posted on this subject numerous times - entering "Consumer Law' in the search field should bring back the relevant information.

Kind regards,

Kim

I’m having the same issues both with la Hoya Hormosa having spent thousands of euro on purchase of lights and fans for my two villas and being refused warranties and being witness to the shop assistant threatening customers including my 14 year son with a pair of scissors and shhad to be subdued by police

Yes that serious

Im also being harrased by RayD who started that he left uk to get away from trouble making British Wrongly suggesting that I am British and a trouble maker and that the assistant was the victim and I should apologise to her and offer her chocolate and flowers

(Personally I think he needs to get a new life)

I agree any one contemplating purchases from this shop in Torrevejia should be very careful
