I'm trying to find a  plastic bag heat sealing machine. The type for storing food. Can anyone suggest where I should look? Thanks

I don't know about regular stockists - I picked ours up in Aldi as one of their specials. If nobody can suggest a source, have a look at Amazon ES. You need to decide if you just want a plastic bag sealer, or whether you want a vacuum sealer - sellador bolsas plastico, or sellador bolsas vacio.

If you go for a vacuum sealer, the embossed bags or tubing work much better than plain plastic.

IKEA carries various sizes of zip lock plastic bags suitable for foodstuff. https://www.ikea.com/es/en/search/products/?q=istad You don't need a sealer.

If you don't need a vacuum seal, then I agree - I normally put a drinks straw in the bag and suck on it to draw most of the air out when I'm sealing it.

When I do think a vac pack is essential is if I buy, e.g. beef, from a Spanish butcher. If the butcher can't vac pack it, I do it myself. Then bung it in the fridge for three weeks to mature. That's one time when you don't really want any air in the bag.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I had seen them in Lidl a while back, but it was a 'one-off' offer and not something they stock all the time. I have now found one from Milar Electrical. They didn't have it in the Torrevieja shop, but they have ordered it for me from their shop in Madrid. I pick it up on Monday in Torrevieja. It seals and vacuums the bag. Cost €39 and I also bought 6 meters of plastic bag roll for €14.
