Horrible company – Warning! Do not rent from CLICK RENT SL.

First, they charged my credit card for the petrol protection (in case you bring the car without gas) on the day of the rental, not at the end, as other providers would normally charge. Second, they had an internet breach, saying to me by email that my financial and personal details could be at risk, but not to worry about it, as it would be unlikely (how would they know?).

Finally, as we brought the car back with two little scratches in the interior of the door (not even sure if this wasn’t there before the rental day) they charged us 520 euros per scratch, coming up to once money was taken for the conversion as GBP 1,030.00.

Try to fight it, to no avail, as it apparently appears in the small print of the rental contract.

This company is a complete ripoff, charging you for small damage the same amount as if the car was stolen, written off, or burned to a crisp.

They seem to have the Gold Car style of business. Ripoff mercants. Terrible reviews on Tripadvisor

Put them on Named, and shamed through Facebook.

Or go on to Maps on your phone, and put a bad review on there.

Shame them to hell, and hopefully ruin their scam of a business?

Far too too much of this goes on.

We always read lots of reviews before we go ahead with absolutely anything.

It is obvious the Insurance companies are as much to blame.

Maybe, but they do not repair the cars anyway. The one rented had 10 different dents and scratches (one very large one covering the driver's door all the way from one side to the other), and none of these have ben fixed...

This is how they make a profit, always get your own hire car damage  insurance and you can claim any deductions back. It's only about £50.00 per year.

They are ALL at it. It's by no means just Clickrent.

It seems this is now pretty much standard practice for the more budget companies and is exactly why I've now bought our own cheap old banger so we don't have to go through this rubbish anymore.

There are options though and from my experience, it's either go with a really expensive small company like COYS or just buy the major company's premium insurance.

Whatever, Goldcar are about the only company that haven't tried to fleece me in (I think) 4 hires.

I've just used gold car, the jeep was full of dents and scratches so they definitely don't have them repaired they just pocket the large deposit each time. On returning the car to Alicante airport they asked me where the rear parcel shelf was, if it had one when I collected it I wouldn't have got our luggage in the tiny boot. Luckily I always do a walk round video on collection.

They don't repair them, they just pocket the large deposit each time. How else would they make a profit? I've Just paid £12.00 a day for 6 days . Doesn't cover costs.
