I have a 15 yr old Maine coone who is a insulin dependent diabetic, I am hoping to bring him to Vila Joiosa with us when we move there in May, but I need to know where to find a good English speaking vet who will prescribe his meds, also what are Spanish vet fees like compared to the UK ( he is not insured) I am currently getting his insulin from petdrugsonline (half the price than the vets) but won’t be able to once we move. Any advice would be very m

Hi

We live in Villajoyosa and use Miguel (Dr Don Miguel Gonzalez Carlos!), Calle Ferrocarril, 1 - Bloque B.

Consulting no - 96 685 06 05.

Emergencies 670 17 63 39.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10am-1pm

Tuesday and Thursday 5-8.30pm

Saturday 10-1pm

His English is very limited, but his assistant, Sofia is half Spanish/half English and speaks perfect English, albeit with a weird accent!!!

Miguel is adorable and I would not hesitate to recommend him. As for fees, they are far less here than in England although I have been told that there is a vet near the bridge in Villajoyosa, behind Mercadona, who is much cheaper.

Regards, Francesca.
