Hi

It is really easy. Get on at one of the many Alicante tram stations, and head out to Vilajoiosa. It is about 10 to 12 stops. Lovely run up the coast and only costs €2.50. There are two tram stops, one is a small one called "la Vila Joiosa" and the main one is called "Crueta", which is more in town. When you use the machines to get your tickets, you can choose which flag for your language to make it easy. As La Vila is a small stop you may need to press the buttons a couple of extra times - but it is on there. Keep a hold of your ticket as there are often tram guards checking tickets. If you have to make the return journey, you will need your ticket to use the bar code to get out of the station.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need anything further

Cheers

Brenda

Hi ,

You get the C6 bus from the drop off area for departures. Basically as you walk into arrivals look up and it's up the the escalators. Costs €3.85 and they leave about every 20 mins. Alternatively Google Beniconnect.com they do transfers direct to Villajoyosa for about €14.40

Hi Norma

Glad that was useful.

No the tram is not at the airport. You could either get a taxi, but I wouldnt know how much that would be. But a bus into Alicante is only €3.85, or so. From departures, you walk to the right, all the way to the end, pass all the car rentals, turning left at the end. You will see escalators or lifts, go up the the road level, out through the doors and the bus stop is on the right. The bus you need is C6, which runs every 20 minutes. The journey will take about 20 minutes or so depending on traffic. There are a couple of tram stations that would suit, but we find Marq Castillo to be the easiest. The bus runs along the coast for a bit, then into town, back to the sea front stopping at the bus station and marina. The bus then starts to come inland a little, taking a large sweeping bend to the left, on a bypass if you press the button about then, the next stop is on a hill. Get off here and all you have to do is cross the road. Marq Castillo tram station is opposite. In to the station, down the excalator and there is a machine for your tram ticket at the bottom. And away you go.............

Hope this sounds ok for you, let me know if you would like any further info. Hope you have a great time. We are over on the 5th Sept, for a few days, so fingers crossed for pleasant weather

Hi again

If you happen to be arriving late, the last tram into La Vila from Alicante is about 9.30ish. It may be a fine line of missing a bus and not getting the last tram. If you are arriving at this sort of time Beniconnect is pretty good for around €16.

So a couple of options for you

Hi

There are loads of choices along the sea front. We have not had a bad experience in any of the ones we have tried. The only thing you might like to take a note of is that in one our friend said he would have any gin for his gin and tonic and they chose the best at €9.50 a shot. He regrets not choosing a local gin as there wasnt any Gordons. Lol. We tend to stick to our favourites, Gusta Pizza, The Belgium Bar, Blue Azul have always been very good for us. The gin episode wasnt in any of them, lol.

If you are after a day out, the tram does go into Benidorm, but is is a good half hour walk to the beach, with a hill included. We have not tried the buses yet but they seem to run pretty often. Finestrat is another pretty, smaller beach with a market on Tuesday and Saturday. La Vilas' market is on Thursday.

The Valor chocolate factory does a free tour which is quite interesting. If you walk to it, through town, the restaurants are cheaper than the sea front as you obviously pay for the view.

Hope you have a great time, we will be glad to get back to our little home ................
