The astrazeneca scare was down to Frances  president , there is very little evidence causing blood clots etc on using, where there is, could be down to many variable factors, there are multitudes of people having this vaccine including myself with very little side effects  24  hrs I was fine. Also there are those under 55, yes ! had this vaccine, no ill effects. Its patient choice  if offered itsup to those who belive the EU' s typical scaremongering.or not.

I am 76 years old and trying to get an appointment for covid vaccination without success. I am on the Santa Pola padron.

Barry , Santa Pola has just started the over 80s in the last few days ....my mum  got her call last week so you won’t be too far off.  The Centro de salud call.

Several members under 65 years age have reported that they have received appointments for covid vaccine, myself included 😁😁

Included in the text message is important information that should be read prior to having the vaccine, (the same as any other medication)

All this info is in Spanish or possibly Valencian.

For some reason, I am unable to copy and paste the link for the website on this forum but you can find it by googling “AstraZeneca covid vaccine patient information leaflet.”

My husband and I are both 70 and fiscal residents but we still have not received any news about vaccinations..?...we live in Los balcones andour gp is in torrevieja...?.

Hi Valetie,

As I said previously, there has been a delay in the 65 to 79 years old age group, because of concerns with the AstraZeneca vaccination so, after completing the vaccination of teachers with AZ, Spain is using up its remaining supplies on the general population under 65 years old.  The remaining groups between 65 and 79 years old will start the week after. On 19 April, Spain is scheduled to start receiving the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) single dose jab - 1.3m doses in April, 2.9m doses in May and 3.5m in June, so hopefully you'll be called in a couple of weeks' time.

In the meantime, it's important that your health centre has up to date contact details for you, including a Spanish phone number.  At the appropriate time for your age group, they will either send a text to your mobile, or call your landline, advising you of your vaccination appointment.

Kind regards,

Kim

After a post on CBF, I applied for a SIP online in January, and received a SIP number by text a few days later. Then there was a flurry of posts saying that the details given out were wrong, and this was for people to report symptoms of Covid. It all got a bit confusing with a load more posts contradicting that. It seemed that you had to register with your Salud and get a card (which I did not do).

I received a text this morning stating I should attend a centre in Elche (time and date given) for my first AstraZeneca jab.

I don't have a SIP card, so presume that taking my passport, TIE, padron, NIE and private healthcare paperwork, as well as showing the appointment text will suffice?

YES - that’s exactly what I took with me to my appointment , they declined looking at my passport but looked at my residency card details to confirm my identity

Hello Cpop

I'm not sure you will need all that paperwork but take it if you want to( different places = different requirements )Yesterday I had my 1st Moderna vaccination in Torrevieja...I took SIP & TIE  & only needed to show my SIP at the point  where someone was doing registration-- didnt need TIE at all.

Good Luck at Elche

Cheers

Thanks Paddy H and Rlinspain, mind at rest as I don't have a SIP card, just the text.

I'll still take everything with me, as you never know 🙂....
