Lovely area.   There is a , train that stops there too.   great beaches and a few beach bars.  Bus service into town.   Camp site, and a few bars and a couple of small shops.   Enjoy

In your contemplations can I suggest that you have a read about some of the bureaucracy in Spain by looking at the Citizens Advice Bureau Spain website.   Things have changed quite a bit since the UK left the EU and moving to Spain is not as simple as it used to be.   The country is lovely and so are the people but bureaucracy can get in the way of things at times.

After living for the last 55 years permanently in Spain, and still enjoying, one of the first perceptions was that nothing is what it looks like at first sight. Depending on where and when people are nice or become very nasty if there is nothing they can't get from you for their own benefit. Never pay upfront and alwyays ask for a written estimiate. Never rely on promises whatsoever. Keep distant and never disclose your personal details and future plans to anyone. Everyone speaks English as long as they can "sell" you something. Mistrust anyone who offers something for free, it's a trap (i.e. a bank account w/o commissions/fees). Enjoy.

Not everyone speaks English, you are not in an English speaking country!   I live about 20 minutes inland from Torrevieja and, although there are quite a few British people around, most of the Spanish people do not speak English, although many of them have been trying more and more over the 15 years that I have been here.

I agree with Killjoy to a certain extent that (imho) everybody is there to help you especially where money is concerned!! Brits are quite happy to rip other Brits off without hesitation. I've lived here in Spain for 7 years and absolutely love it here and would never go back to the UK under any circumstances but you have to become very "streetwise" otherwise people, of all nationalities are quite happy to relieve you of possessions and savings.

Stay safe
