Lost: Original NIE

My wife and I have both mislaid our Original NIE certificates. We do have photocopies of both but need to know that we have the originals. We have a holiday home on Orihuela Costa and seek advice from every one as to who to contact, what to do, How long it should take, how much it might cost etc etc.
Anyone can help, but if you are guessing at answers tell me so and conversely if you actually know then please tell me so. To all those who will try and help we are very grateful.
