Pet passport

I want to get an EU pet passport for my dog.

Is this available from the local vets? and how much and how long does it take to get?

If you intend to travel soon with your pet I would visit Vets fairly soon as dog needs Rabies jab and cannot travel for I think its 8 weeks after jab, then 2 days prior to departure needs a worms tablets,, I think in Total I paid 140 passport is valid for 2 years

It is well worthwhile and cheaper to get the EU Pet Passport for travel to Europe. The going rate is anything from €50 to €140. PetsWorld in La Zenia near Zenia Boulevard have been recommended by many posters. Your pet can travel 21 days after the rabies injection. Make sure it is written up correctly in the Pet Passport. You will either get the Passport on the day of the injection or you will have to return to pick it up in a week. Petsworld is 1 day I believe. The tapeworm dose for return to UK or Ireland can be administered from 1 day to 5 days before your return journey. The Passport is for life but the Rabies injection administered in Spain is usually for 3yrs. Ireland and UK are 4yrs. You will need to return before the 3yrs are up to get the booster dose. There is no waiting period for travel after the booster dose.

Note that the wait re the rabies jab will not apply if you brought the dog in on, for example, the UK animal health certificate. Tye dog can return on that.
