Hi Steve I have these medications prescribed:

RIVAROXABAN

RABEPRAZOLE

AMOLDIPINE

ALLOPURINOL

You can purchase Blood Pressure tablets and medication to reduce stomach acids over the counter but as for the other meds I think you will need a doctors prescription. 

If you are moving to Villamartin permanently then you should have private healthcare who may write a prescription but medication will cost you full price.

If you have healthcare through the S1 healthcare scheme then meds will probably be no more than 10% of full cost.

 I recognise a couple of those but,I would say now it's very difficult to purchase  some items over the counter, most farmacias in my area are much stricter now. Some people will say its ok where they live, but I see people turned away often at the biggest phamacy that I use.

Surelyi  if you are moving here ,you want something more permanent/available  than this?

Don't know if this is still possible in the UK, when we moved here 7 years ago my husband was able to get a prescription for 6 months as he needs the tablets permanently, that gave us the breathing we needed to sort ourselves out here in Spain.

Sorry Lenny can't help with that as I've always had my healthcare through the S1 scheme. 

I assumed that you would have private healthcare already to gain your visa to live in Spain permanently.

Something else to consider is that not all UK prescribed medicines will be available in Spain. In some case there may be direct substitutes but where not you should definitely consult a doctor before self medicating.
