Taking Dog to europe for a short trip

Hi

When recently in Spain i sorted out an EU pet Passport for my dog, i am now back in the UK but am planning on going to France for 2 days with the dog. Is it possible to get the tapeworm tablet done in the UK on the Friday prior to leaving for France? I travel back on the Sunday so this would be easier if possible than trying to get sorted out whilst in France on the saturday.

I know you cannot have the rabies booster done in the UK for the EU passport but wondered if this is also true for the tapewirm that has to be administered 1-5 days before return to the UK

You don't need the tapeworm medication to enter Spain, only when going back to the UK. Don't know about France though. Just double check with a vet there in the UK.

Yeah its a requirement to get back in to England. But we leave on Saturday and return the following day on Sunday.

So my concern is we can't find a vet on the Saturday afternoon or the Sunday in France. Hence can we have the tapeworm on Friday in UK, but I don't think uk vet can update EU passport

You are correct. A UK vet cannot enter the stamp in an EU passport. May not be a solution you like, but can a family member not look after the pet for you for the sake of 1 day?

I think you will struggle on Saturday to find a vet and definitely on Sunday. Isn't there also a timescale for the tablet to be taken?

Why not ring your vet in UK, they should know
