We have a young dog that is 9 months that we no longer wish to own as we are moving out from a property to a rental that doesn’t allow pets. Does anyone know how we can find a new home for a his dog, it’s mixed breed, 100% healthy and totally up to date with all vaccinations, including Leishm...

...aniasis-can anyone suggest new owner or rescue centre?

Kind regards

Andy

The youg fellow resembles a podenco?

Breed badly treated by so many overthere it is important he does not get into bad hands

Galgos del sol in murcia might help?

And please no one owns a dog and yes the wording is shocking

Animals have feelings and please find  l him a family who knows that and respects that

My 2 cents worth is you really should have found a rental that accepted dogs. There are so many available properties esp. now. If you have children you don't put them up for adoption just because your circumstances have changed. Really no excuse.

I have an issue I need to solve too. My apt. in La Mata I have not been able to visit since Nov. In Jan. from the UK I adopted a rescue Staffy and now obviously I cannot use Easy Jet or Ryanair etc so I need to rethink how me, my partner and our dog can get to Spain. Not in a million years would we leave him in kennels as he gets detachment stress. I think our options are to Ferry/drive via Portsmouth/Santander or use a pet transport service. Much more money but he's worth it for the love he give to our life.

If anyone has any options which do not involve driving through France I am open to ideas, URLs, contacts etc. He has had his jabs but as the Pet Passport system has changed we now have to have 2 final jabs for him at day 10 and day 5 (or both at day 5) before travel. Funny enough our vet in Colchester is from North Spain so she is very familiar with the new Animal Health Certificate (AHC) scheme.

We have always used Brittany ferries from Portsmouth to Santander or Bilbao. Difficult to get a dog friendly cabin though

I found it easier to ring them as I could never find them available online but got one with a phone call.

Yep ringing might be an idea as online there is zero availability for July Aug Sept so either the site is buggy or theyre booked to the max. I did include a LR Discovery and dog so maybe that's why!

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

This has been sorted now local charity helped.  Would be useful if Admin could mark in some way any posts that had been resolved.  Once it gets to more than 2 pages of responses it's hard to keep up.

Good Afternoon

My husband and I are very keen to adopt your lovely dog. Would it be possible to speak with me as I have quite a few questions, could you private message me your email or phone number would be even better.

Kind Regards

Monique Kingston

Glad its sorted now. Really bad post on terms of wording. Really got to people who have pets. I would have loved to take him but my own dog wont accept another, she is too pampered.
