Which bank is it thanks
Yes, Rdudden, would love to know which bank you use. I was told by Sabadell 3€ basic bank account only available to residents. If you read terms and conditions with most banks(BBVA, Bankia,Caixa have to be "resident in Spain). Bankia and BBVA online applications wont accept paper NIE,s and BBVA app shows NIE as acceptable ID but it doesnt accept it, so went into branch and they confirmed NIE,s meant stranger residence card for residencia. I have spent 4wks trying to get a "free" online account or a low cost basic bank account with no success. I have just opened an account with Cajamar in branch but was made to open 2 accounts which the 2nd account(360) with a 1000€ balance per month enabled me to have a free account. However the app doesnt seem to offer an english translation. I need to return next week to collect cards and will take a translator friend as it was very difficult to get all answers to my queries as no english spoken. I have frequently posted my experience trying to obtain a non resident low cost or even free bank account especially a BBVA account as a non resident but nobody actually replies and those that do put in regular monthly amounts over 600€ month as a resident would. So the account does need large monthly deposits( no good for a non resident who spends short periods in Spain) Spanish utility companies wont accept direct debits from N26 account as must be Spanish bank so that was out too. Would love somebody to explain how they have an account with fee free or low maintenance costs as a non resident without either putting large monthly deposits or bribed into buying insurance etc.
Regards
Pauline.

Thanks Barbara we had same experience as non resident the only bank accounts free you have to put salary or pension in which is not suitable only over here few months of year at present
And the new goverment rules the 3€ per month sabadell said for low income and on benefit clients no one else.
I am surprised we cannot link our uk Santander account with Santander here has anyone tried that.
