Afternoon

My solicitor in Spain has set up my bank account with bankinter , as I will be purchasing property very soon. He has Poa so I presume he will be able to get the login details.

I will contact him Monday as unable to access my account online.

account activated but have no log in details ? And unable to set up myself online.

There is very little information or contact information online.

How do you all rate this bank and online facilities please

Any feedback appreciated

Thank you rob

The day to day running of the account is fair to middling, but with only one cashier waiting to get served requires patience. Our new debit and credit card replacement left a lot to be desired, the first time the debit card expired they sent the new card to our old UK address, no explanation or apology, the second time my husband had to make 5 trips to the bank before he got the new card, what made the situation worse it was during lockdown and my husband should have been shielding.

The only reason we leave the account with Bankinter Los Dolses is convenience no other reason.

I don't think they are any worse or any better than other banks, if we did change it might be out of the Frying pan into the fire.

Thank you for reply

I bank with Santander in the uk and did wonder if I would be able to bank with them in spain instead using a local Spanish bank ?

I tried using my passport number to log on which didn’t work !

My solicitor has been very good so far so hopeful he will sort my log in details next week as not much help from the bank online.

Thanks rob

I have a Bankinter account with online facilities that was set up by the abogado with poa, I had to visit the bank itself to collect cards, passwords which was all explained how to activate, I have had no problems with My bank and when I have called in, there is always a person that speaks English.

We were introduced to Bankinter 20 years ago through Atlas and we were very pleased with them ( not Atlas) Halifax then arrived in Spain so we changed for ease of transfers. Then they eventually closed and ended up being taken over by Sabadell. That's when we couldn't hack the bad service and left to go back to Bankinter. Can't fault them.

My Bankinter account was opened by my solicitors on my behalf when I purchased my property a couple of years ago .  So far perfectly happy with them.  They send me regular paper statements in the UK. .  I use the account purely to pay regular bills by direct debit.
