House ownership legal question

Hi

I have a house in Spain which is currently owned by myself and my now ex partner. I need to get the house legally changed to be in my name only but the solicitor I used when buying me the house is saying this will cost €1,000's which came as a big shock

Can anyone advise me on this or give details of a solicitor that they think or know will not be so expensive

In Spain such a transaction is tantamount to a sale and will attract costs accordingly. 

Notaires fees are pretty much fixed and other charges and taxes will depend largely on the property value so the only place you're likely to save anything of substance will be on lawyers fees which should only represent a small part of the whole.

Hi.......out of curiosity, is the reason for this so you keep the asset or just a moving forward thing after an agreed arrangement? 

I only ask because some of the legal beagles on here might be more informed to answer the question in the manner you require.

I would imagine there will be different answers for different scenarios.

The reason is indeed so that I keep the asset in Spain but solely in my name so that in the future I can pass  on 100% of it to my daughters

Hi I'm in the same position as yourself with an ex . I had a quote from a gestor for €4 to €5 grand . Good luck for the future.
