Hi folks. I am already in spain and gonna be applying for residency ( Irish passport and not working). I have been informed that I need to open an spanish bank account and deposit at least 7000 euros to assist with my application as proof of income ( even though I have a private pension of £12000 per annum). My question is would an online spanish bank account be suffice rather than open one in a local branch? Many thanks
Worked for us. My wife is German. We used an N26 account, and they are excellent.

N26 is a completely online bank. They are German, but operate in Spain so they have a Spanish IBan and a Spanish address in Madrid....
