Does anybody else think foreign owners should get a rebate or compensation , at present I'm paying standing charges on my electric , water , paying the suma,  paying the foreign ownership tax, community chargers , internet, etc, but can't use  my apartment for obvious reasons , and they say this could be up to august and longer ! Come August it will be 2 years since I applied for a holiday let licence,  what a joke ,

No.....I think the Spanish government / companies are having enough trouble looking after their own.

No I really don't think that would be justified or warranted .

standing charges on my electric - payable whether you're there or not

water - payable whether you're there or not

suma - payable whether you're there or not

foreign ownership tax - payable whether you're there or not

community chargers - payable whether you're there or not

internet - bad luck, change to a service you can turn on and off.

etc. - ?

Did I miss something ?

Hi Bencr85.

I can sympathise  and totally see were you are coming from over the rebate issue, in that through no fault of your own you are paying for several services which you are prevented from fully gaining benefit from.

In reality, though, it's a definite non starter due to the exceptional  circumstances in which we all find ourselves presently involved in.

Its undoubtedly  'bite the bullet' time , but as I say, your concerns are quite understandable.

On the Holiday Let license , 2 years is much too long to have waited and I hope you soon hear better news on that one.

Take care .

No

Capacity charges are for the capital-intensive distribution assets (pipes, meters, cables). They are still there.

Commodity charges - if you aren't using electricity, water etc., there won't be charges.

SUMA is way cheaper than council tax in UK and that still has to be paid regardless.

Think yourself lucky as many like me are residents but can't work get no help with money and lucky if we get food.

A little perspective would help you see it is not too bad. If you are well and healthy and have food on your table you are winning.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

My Lawyer has put in an application but not got any details back from Government.

I did not know there are food banks. Thank you I will check with the Townhall in Algorfa as that is my Townhall.

That is very kind of you to let me know. I appreciate your kindness.

No my Autonomo was not stopped. As it is lower rate if I stopped I would have to pay full 378€ when reinstated.

They are looking into deferring but it may come with have a cost of 300€ to pay back. It is the most odd system.

Being self employed is expensive and understand why so many avoid it. It is good it pays for health etc but it would be cheaper to have my own health cover.

If they helped people could go on Autonomo easier and it would help generate more money for them. Very complicated sadly.
