Hi there, opened a Wise account, can anybody let me know which bank cash point machines don’t charge on withdrawals, thanks in advance, Steve
Few if any, I've heard possibly Deutchbank but never tried it.
Who needs cash anyway!

There was quite debate on this subject a few weeks ago, see below link.
As far as I am aware all banks charge you for using their cashpoints unless you bank with them.

Santander are offering no charge for existing Santander UK clients, but they are Robbing you with the exchange rate ! Used it first and last time a few weeks ago, the rate given was €1•05 to the £1 ! The money exchanges were paying €1•11 that same day !!

Did you press the "don't convert" button? If you accept the issuing banks rate you will get a poor rate of exchange.
We've used Santander ATMs for years, withdrawing direct from our Santander UK account and never had a problem. However, you must press the don't convert button when given the choice.

Hi Stephen
I use Cashzone ATMs for free withdrawals. Google maps says there's one opposite Villamartin Plaza, and personally I use the one outside Murphy's Irish Pub, near La Zenia Boulevard (which is quite new, and so doesn't appear on GM). I think there's another new one in the filling station at Los Dolses.
But remember that if you take out more than your limit with Wise, then Wise themselves will charge you, as stated in the app.
However, almost everybody will accept card/phone payments these days - so in my case I never breach the Wise limits.
Cheers
Steve

Did you opt to pay in GBP on the Santander screen? My understanding is if you opt to pay in euros on the screen you get a very good rate but if you take their GBP rate offered it is not good? I use this all the time and get a good rate. You might want to test this although it does have to be a Santander bank.

Under no circumstances should you use the EURONET machines. They charge up to 14% commission and use an awful exchange rate. BE WARNED
A couple of things to remember when using a Wise Card.
If you are permanent resident in Spain you can get some cheap Bank deals, however for holiday Homes people they don’t give you such a good deal
You can withdraw up to €200 a month without charges at some ATMs .Obviously more frequency and higher amounts incurs charges.
When you consider that you are not charged Bank Charges for account maintenance Direct Debits etc. saving in excess of €200 per year !! My advice is use Wise card for everything you can :- fuel, meals, drinks, shopping and actual money for tipping and small purchases only!!
I only talk about Wise because I only have a limited (but painful) experience with one large Bank and it’s charges. So please don’t shoot the messenger.
