I suspected that might be the case, and it sounds like it's pointing in the wrong direction. I wouldn't attempt to do it yourself, as you need a specialist piece of kit to find the correct satellite and line up the dish with it. If you've got a compass you could try in the meantime pointing it at 28.2 degrees east, but I don't know what angle it needs to be at.

Hopefully someone will give you a recommendation.

I recently used an app on my phone to re align our dish, I've done this several times in the UK and it was always a two minute job, but here it took forever, the slightest movement makes a massive difference. If it has to be done again I'll get someone out to do it :)

If you have hooked up a Sky UK digibox, and and you say getting some channels then the dish IS on the correct satellites.

(A Sky box would not even boot up if it did not get the signals from the corrects satellite)

And so if you are not getting the weaker BBC ITV channels, then this depends on where exactly you are, and the exact size of the dish...and if the dish is aligned correctly (less than a cm out can make all the difference), , the LNB is working correctly, and no insects have nested inside the LNB (they can block the signals!)

"we are not getting BBC or ITV" - but if you ar getting other UK channels, like C4, and Five, then your dish is aligned correctly, and may just need a tad refining...

"but its massive." - compared the the UK TV Sky minidishes a 80cm dish can be considered massive...but assuming it is 1.8 or 2,4m then probably it is already aligned to the uk tv satellites, as aligning to any other satellites, for Spanish TV is a tad overkill...!

"I assume you've done a scan on the box." - no need to do anything on a sky box, it is plug and play...only "FTA" boxes need to scan, but Sky boxes, as the OP says they have, does not need any user intervention to get working...

"You will need the dish realigned, it's more than likely not pointing at the right satellite for English channels if the previous owner was Spanish." - if, like the OP alreaady says they are getting some channels on a UK Sky box, then the dish is alreaady aligned to the uk tv satellites.,

"We have connected a sky box but only get some channels.  Is there a Set Top box we can buy?" - a Sky box IS a set top box! A Sky UK digibox is designed for both free and pay channels, from the UK TV satellites.

"You won't get all the channels you can in the UK."  - yes you can, as long as you have the right sized dish for your location.

If you are struggling with More4, then you will also struggle with some C4+1, E4+1, and Film4+1...as they are on the same frequency.

And If you are struggling with 4seven, you will also struggle with C4 HD, again on the same frequency.

(and probably ITV HD, which tends to be much weaker than those channels)

ANd your list is also missing the free to air QUEST channels, Quest , Quest HD, Quest Red, which as you are getting Food NEtowrk, you should also get, as they are on the same frequency...

I can't receive 4 seven, quest channels, dave & horror channels, probably a few more too, I've never been able to get them properly since I had satellite installed. I do however receive them better over winter, strange.

Dish or LNB needs a tweak, assuming you have a large enough dish for where you area, and a decent LNB...
