Yes you can.

Sky is Sky is Sky and subject to having a big enough dish (1.4m min. or more likely 1.8m) it can work in Spain just the same a it does in UK.

One important caveat is that if have a UK subscription and want to use any interactive services which require an internet connection then you MUST use a VPN, if not then Sky will detect that you're using a card outside of the UK and block it.

Similarly if you need to phone them you MUST do it from a phone with a +44 UK number.

There are one or two suppliers in Spain who claim to be able to provide you with all the kit AND a subscription but I don't know anyone who has gone that route.

Have a dish fitted and buy a receiver here (about €90), you can then get the majority of the UK Freeview channels and no monthly fees to pay. I get about 50 channels with the set up I have and it can record to usb.

are you a full time resident in spain or the uk and if so do you have sky in the uk if so so below

in spain  you can always get sky by using sky go like i do through my ps3 which gives you everything except not been able to record programmes.I get my bbc channels(not on sky go) through tv player installed on a fire stick with nord vpn installed to make tv player think in still in the uk

the only other thing you need is good fibre broadband

We had Sky TV in Spain for over 12 years and when I needed to contact them I always rang them using my Spanish landline, occasionally I even mentioned that I was in Spain, no problem, so to say that they will cut you off if they know you are not in the Uk is a fallacy, they don't care as long as they are getting your money.

Michael, I,ve used freesat boxes in Spain on a 1.9m dish for freeview channels for years, however this visit as its for 3mnths we brought our Uk sky boxes(with their cards) and have exactly the subscription channels as if we had them in Uk. We drove down but sure they,d just go into hand luggage and you,re not wasting your subscriptions. We did have 2 cables in 2 rooms already as we had humax freesat boxes with hard drives, so now we can use our sky boxes to record as in the Uk. You will need those 2 cables per box if you want to record. We plan to stay 3mnths twice a year so best of both worlds.

Regards

Pauline.

"so to say that they will cut you off if they know you are not in the Uk is a fallacy, they don't care as long as they are getting your money. "

I found it very much depends on the operator, but in most cases if they know you are outside the UK your subscription channels will be cancelled as breach of contact. Although you say it has not happened to you and so must not be true, i know that it has happened to many other people...so not much of a fallacy..
