AP7 Toll Charges

Rumours that the toll charges will be removed this year, Any news?

From Alicante upwards yes but the 2 at either side of Torrevieja that have made that section a bit of a Ghost Highway are to remain. Indeed prices might be about to increase

Tolls increased by 5 cents on Jan 1st , now 2.25 euro …!

They’ll touch €4 each so in summer and €16 return
Highly unlikely that they will be removed as they make to much money from tourists, the congestion in the Summer months on the N332 is set to continue.
Thankfully I don't have to pass that way very often and know my way around the smaller streets well enough to avoid most of the congestion if I do.

I think Aura’s 50 yr contract is until 2048 alright so won’t bother me then either. Maybe before that they might widen the rest of the N-332 from the hospital down easing the worst of the jams there. I read when that was proposed though that Aura threatened legal action due to their perceived loss of earnings on their AP7 tolls. Maybe big business and especially stores at La Zenia may yet put enough pressure and have enough money to get the toll there removed sooner.
