Having arrived on Wednesday after 10 months, we have been very careful to follow all the Covid-19 regulations currently in place. Alas, after a few walks at beach and locally to Villamartin, plus a visit further south this morning by car, we are shocked at the lassez-faire attitude of people. Masks around wrists, around necks, hanging off bicycles...anywhere but over the nose and mouth. No wonder the numbers are rising?

Most local pople are fed up after 7 months and no evidence that gvt. rcommendations have been of any use, on the contrary, daily new infections exceed 1.000.

Fully agree not a lot is enjoyable with masks on and as one reads now the holiday period is over and people are back “inland” once more cases on the coasts are falling.
If masks were so good there wouldn’t be any increase in cases - it’s distance and contact that really matters

It is sad and disappointing to see the rules not being followed, but in reality we are all responsible for our own safety and those we care about.
Those of us that want to keep others and our selves safe will continue to do so and make a point of staying away from area's and venues where others are not so cautious.
It is really about how much respect we as individuals have for our fellow humans.
Keep safe.
I'm not sure about masks to be honest. I cannot understand why they need to be worn if out walking and cycling on your own or within your family bubble. It's no different from sitting in your own garden.
I would however stick to the rules despite my thoughts.
I agree that distance and contact are the main factors but if in areas where there are other people in the proximity government guidelines then masks should be worn........correctly.
My thoughts on Covid are completely another matter.
Stay safe everyone.

Thanks Tina, we too, have returned to UK and are now self isolating. It was funny, and ironic, to see so many people leaving the airport to get cars, all still happily wearing theirs!
What wasn't funny was finding my car damaged in the car park, no note on the windscreen, and 5 mins later getting an email from Wiber car rental in Alicante saying the car had a scratch on the door, €220 taken off my deposit. This, after they sent me 27 photos of damage already on the car. Methinks they don't bother doing the repairs, just take the money. Actually, I think I will post this bit on the Forum as a new post, for information.

Unfair the hire companies are, and I agree that they more or likely don't do the repairs. However you will find actual topics on here for hire cars etc. Might be best posting that under those topics that already exist.
