Been back in the UK this week, got back to Spain yesterday and I have a text to say I have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid, they must have got my Spanish phone number from the passenger locator form as I had not downloaded the app. My understanding is I don't have to self isolate as I have been double vaccinated? I'm nervous about going out.

Did you only go back to the U.K. for a couple of days?  If so you’ve probably been pinged from your journey to the U.K.

If you look on a few of the Facebook Benidorm pages there are quite a few cases when people have been pinged as a result of someone on their flight testing positive on their Day 2 test.  So if you went back to the U.K. for 4/5 days the timing sounds about right.

NHS says you don’t have to isolate if you’ve been doubled jabbed, but just need to minimise contact with other people and to self test. It’s obviously different if you start showing symptoms.

Don’t think I’ve heard of any such rules here in Spain, but  to be on the safe side I’d buy a couple of tests from the farmacia and keep self testing for the next few days. Maybe ring the help line number for advise?

I guess it’s taken the shine off your visit to the U.K.  Fingers crossed you’ll be OK

Keep safe

Lynn

I found this, https://english.elpais.com/society/2021-09-15/do-i-have-to-quarantine-after-contact-with-a-coronavirus-case-will-a-tracer-call-me-all-the-rules-in-the-new-normality.html

Positive cases at work or in public. If a person tests positive for Covid-19, they will have to self-isolate for at least 10 days. This rule has not changed. What has changed are the rules over close contacts of positive cases. While close contacts had to also quarantine for 10 days during most of the pandemic, as of last June this now only applies to unvaccinated people. Close contacts who are fully vaccinated or who have overcome the disease in the past six months do not have to self-isolate, although the Health Ministry recommends that they get tested at least once in the following days.

You are obviously concerned and will take precautions so along with what Lynn advised about taking a test or two, it seems that is all that is needed.

Hopefully, as with so many other people who have been pinged, you will be fine.

I feel fine, but who knows?

I've been double jabbed, and had Covid so 🤞 My husband is going to get me a couple of tests.

Our daughter went to U.K. to pick up her NLV and returned the same day, she received the text from NHS within two hours of being back in Spain, to put her mind at rest she paid for a test the next day which was negative.

Hi this happened to friends of mine recently. All you have to do is have a negative PCR test, which you will have had on day 2 of your return then you don't have to isolate.

Myself and my husband flew back from Alicante last Saturday. We both got pinged on Tuesday to say we had been in contact. They don't tell you who or when this happened. We had had all tests. Day 2 test came back on Wednesday which was negative for both of us. We got an email saying we had to isolate and take another pcr test. After completing the form telling them we were double vaccinated. We then got another email telling us we didn't have to isolate. The only place they could have got our information was from the PLF

The ironic thing is we were straight in our car from the airport and after arriving home we hadn't been out again. So I am beginning to wonder how correct some of this is. In our case it could only have been from the airport or the flight and considering everyone on the flight should have been tested it seems a little strange. By the way we have both since done 2 more tests both negative and we are fit and well.

Thanks for this info, with all this going on makes me question everything. To be on the safe side I'm staying indoors for the forseeable inspite of a negative test.
