"The Spanish have no issues with homeowners arriving to attend to our properties and neither have the French if you are in transit through the country and you have a valid negative test."

I think they do hence it not currently being a valid reason to enter Spain - although some are getting away with it. France is slightly different, hence travelling via France is probably more likely to be successful.

"It’s the restrictions of the English government that are causing the problems."

These restrictions do in fact allow you to leave for the purposes of purchase/sale/preparation of rental of a property!

It’s the restrictions of the English government that are causing the problems. The government has not been consistent in its approach but has been consistent in how badly it’s handled situations as they’ve developed at our borders. Closing the stable doors after the donkey has bolted time a...

...nd time again. For example most recently despite knowing of the South African variant and its spread they allowed several hundred of SA passengers into the country on flights before adding them to the ref list. But.., try and spend a couple of weeks in your own car, to travel to your own home after proving special needs to travel, had a clear test result and you will get the third degree at UK border control.

Sorry, don't agree. As a foreign home owner I can get out of the UK but the Spanish rules do not allow non-residents to enter except for a very limited specific set of reasons. Until Spain changes this I will not travel, gambling on the whim of a border control agent is not for me.

If the UK border controls are so bad how is it that the UK infections are so low? Why do they give people the third degree as you call it, because they have found multiple instances where people lie about their journey and their medical status. For me it is a good thing that they are rigorous with their questioning.

Aitch..

It cost us €40 each at the IMED in Alcoi , here’s a link

It was an antigen test and they send a certificate to your email and mobile within two hours. Both Spain and France accept the test for travelling back to the UK. You will need to have prebooked the two test package and prove it at the UK border post with a booking ref also.

A PCR test. You did  not get  two for 80 euros .

I think they are saying €40 is too cheap for a PCR. More likely the price of an antigen test.

I live in Holland, what is it you all need to get on a plane in Spain, is it a PCR test valid for 72hr, or a quick test 12hrs?

I am looking to fly in June to alicante and going to Los Altos area, Orihuela, as full restrictions from Holland should be lifted in the next couple of weeks.

From here I need one or the other, plus filling in a health form and registering on the Spanish govt site.

Any help would be appreciated,

cheers

80 € for the two of us for PCR tests leaving Alcoi to return to UK. £400 for the obligatory 2 x two NHS supplied tests via the compulsory list of “approved government suppliers” within 8 days on our return. Another victory for the fat cat Brexit sponsors and another kick in the teeth for o...

Where did you have the 2 x PCR done ?

Was it an antigen or PCR test?

Thanks in advance

It was antigen tests. The French at Calais accepted them and so did the UK Border at Calais .

Thank you so much for your reply! Unfortunately  we need PCR tests.
