According to Wikipedia ES, the concession lasts to 2040, but could be extended to 2044.

Hi Richard,

Alex posted a news article a couple of days ago about the stretches of the AP7 that pass into public ownership on 1st January.  Unfortunately, it doesn't include the La Zenia stretch - thanks to tourists and the Boulevard, that's probably the only part that covers its costs.

Redundancy talks for 140 toll booth operators

Kind regards,
Kim

If you're coming from Alicante airport just stay on the N332, the journey time isn't much different.

The N332 is my preferred route between La Zenia and Alicante Airport, yes a few roundabouts and sometimes traffic congestion around Torrevieja but mostly a clear run in my experience.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Horses for courses Pete, I hate the boredom of just sitting on a motorway. I do the run, both ways twice a month, occasionally more and can honestly say in my experience there's little difference in the two routes.

Hi Richard. We always exit AP7 at Los Montesinos and come into Villamartin through San Miguel to avoid those 2 tolls at the end of the journey.
