They will all tell you they are giving you a discount which is probably built in to the sales price. The only time you'll get a worthwhile discount is by taking out a credit agreement as they will get a cut of the charges. Would be extremely rare to get a discount, or at least not one as good, by paying the full price.

You could take out a credit agreement and then pay off the balance after a certain time (check on the lease agreement as they may have a time limit).

Nothing seems easy here late second hand cars are nearly the same as new

Wonder if worth bringing 2nd hand LHD from UK and re register ?

Most people I have spoken to recently say it is not cost effective to bring in a car from the UK due to the import costs. Speak with one of the companies who specialise in putting UK cars onto spanish plates to get an idea of overall costs. I used https://www.spanish-number-plates.com/ , very good. I brought my RHD car in prior to Brexit when taxes were not a problem.

Rgds,

Aitch.

They occasionally have ‘ special offer discounts’, which I imagine are pushed by the marque to increase sales. However, these are only for the limited time they quote, a few days , a week maybe. We came unstuck years ago buying a new vehicle, dithering a bit and were offered a limited time special discount, not a huge amount, but even so. We dithered for a few days more, also looking at another marque, made the decision and were told the discount offer had ceased, end of.

Hi,

I understand your confusion and frustration with the price of used cars, we had this headache 18 months ago.

We ended up buying a new car car as there wasn’t much difference between new and two / three year old vehicles.

There is a carwow website for Spain and also Coches.com. Coches.com very useful in that you can put  in your requirements and it filters the dealers with there offers. If nothing else it gives you an idea of what the going rate is for a particular model.

We used the SEAT dealer in San Javier, far more personal than dealers in Torrevieja and less pressure selling in our opinion.

Personally I wouldn’t buy new in Spain. Vehicles seem to be one of the few things that are crazy expensive compared to UK.

Regarding second had it’s doable if you shop around. I bought a 2019 diesel estate  car for 7500 euros from a specialist who imports them from Europe and re registers them in Spain. It’s no where near as expensive as people think. Equivalent prices were around 13, 000 euros for the same car.

I think if I looked again I’d just bring a vehicle from UK and take it back out before the 6 month deadline, then bring it back in again!

Good luck whatever you decide.

James
