When I've done this in the past, the easiest way for me was to go to a Gestoria, google gestoria in your area, there are normally a few around.

If you buy from a dealer, then I'd expect the dealer to do the transfer.
If you buy privately, then enjoy your trip to Hacienda to pay the transfer tax!

Can anyone who has done this themself please tell me where a Torrevieja resident must go to pay the transfer tax and how to find out how much it is in advance? In Andalucia there's a nice online tool https://www.juntadeandalucia.es/agenciatributariadeandalucia/valoracion-vehiculos but I can't find anything similar for Alicante.
Thank you.

Changed my car and dealer is dealing with transfer. My car tax was taken week later, by DD, which was based on my previous car as I owned old vehicle on January 1st, which is correct. My question is do I need to advise Suma office of new vehicle details or will they be advised during transfer process. ?

The easiest thing to do is pop into your suma office when have the car paperwork and set up a direct debit, they'll know you own the car but you still have set up the payment or pay it manually.
